But can he really forget the men, the ones he he served with, who their lives for him as he did for them?
Stupid question.
The conspirators all enjoy a high level of protection; no one in government knows of their complicity in this sordid plot or what it 's all about. Hell, Stokes doesn't even know and he was right in the thick of it.
The decision to go after these rogues - especially Fyffe - would be easy to make if it wasn't for the lives of the families of everyone.
Crisis Management. He how hated that term but it was Fyffe's baby and he was more determined than ever now that this creation would become a Frankenstein's monster.
To go after him Stokes would risk his life and that of the remaining members of the "Crisis Management" team, his daughter and the families of the men.
Sometimes justice demands highest risks and sometimes you have to look the other way for the greater good.
This would not be one of those times and as fate would have it, the "virus" shows up in California in a very advanced stage. Has to be deliberate. General Brewer calls on the Crisis Management for their expertise in the matter to investigate the situation putting their revenge plans on hold.
